Disappointing
I've used a Motorola v60s, LG VX4400 and LG VX4500 since switching to Verizon and base any comparisons on them. My needs are basic. I want a low-to-moderately priced phone with good reception above all other features, followed by speakerphone and voice commands at the top of the goodies list. With limited options, I had narrowed my list to the VX5200 and the Moto V276.
I chose the LG based on my previous satisfaction with my other LG phones in addition to too many negative comments on the V276, and to a lesser extent, a slightly better camera and features list on the VX5200.
Pros:
Good Reception on par with my VX4500
Good display, better than most reviews allow
Intuitive menu navigation
Good features for a low-cost phone
Cons:
LG changed the voice commands from VX4500, less intuitive
Voice recognition not on par with VX4500
Drops calls with high signal
Terrible echoing on some calls
No lens cover for camera
Picture quality from camera is expectedly poor, but it's a phone so I'm not going to be critical for that. The absence of a simple lens cover like on the VX6100 is inexcusable, however.
Overall, I found the VX5200 to be inadequate in too many areas and will be returning it within my 15-day guarantee period.
Its a good fone, but..
I've had this fone for the last 2 days. It's a good fone, but so far I noticed couple of 'not so good' things.
1. I dont know if its Verizon or the fone piece, but the signal is very week(1 or 2 bars) inside my home (where it used to be 3 or 4 with T-mobile and I thought Verizon was better than T-Mobile).
2. My phone gets 'burning hot' after talking for more than 15 minutes. Has anyone else also had the same problem?
If the above two are common & gets resolved, and if I dont encounter no other issues, I would then increase my ratings on this fone. Please advise people.
Thanks in advance.
Peace!!!

im liking it..
i recently switched from a lg vx 6100, which i absolutely loved, to the 5200 (mainly because my phone was getting pretty beat up, and i wanted a change) and i am really enjoying this phone. it has really nice sound quality, it looks good, its small, its light, and its cute. what more could i ask for? the only thing that im not totally thrilled about is that the quality of the camera is not as good as the one on the 6100. other than that im really loving this phone. i hope everyone else who gets it enjoys it too
Nice phone but....
I had this phone but I had to take it back. The speaker quality was awful. It make crackling sounds when I talked and the speaker would get louder or softer during the call. I owned an Lg vx3100 for 2 years with no problems and only changed because I wanted a camera and color screen. I ended up with the Motorola E815 and love it. The lg has nice features and I was happy with that but overall looks and the speaker problem made me change my mind.
Pros: Great Features and Menu
Cons: Poor Speaker Quality and looks are just not all that great(on the outside that is)
good phone
This is a good phone. I just got it because I hated Cingular who I had. Overall, this is a pretty good phone. My only problems with it is the small external screen and the 5 menu options (as opposed to the usual 9). Once you get used to those two issues, you will really like the phone.
With Cingular, i had the LG L1400 which is awesome! I loved that phone and I wish verizon had the same thing.
Great phone that is just a phone
Lately, Verizon has failed to release enough tri-mode cell phones that are decently sized and offer the right features. While the LG 6100 was a step in the right direction, it was still too large and poorly styled. The Motorola V265 was smaller, the screen was so poor and so small, it was not even worth considering. The updated Motorola V276 fixed the screen brightness, but it did not fix the screen size. The Samsung A670, while it had very good size and a decent screen, there was no tri-mode. The Samsung A650 and the LG 3300 are difficult for me to use because they lack a front LCD.
The 5200 straddles the middle ground between all of these phones and has suited my needs perfectly, so far. It has excellent shape, size, and decent enough styling. The screen, while the same technology as the V265, is much brighter and seems much bigger. While the front LCD can be annoying because it is color and shuts off after awhile. It still looks nice and I use a watch to tell time anyway. The keys are a little weird because of their wavy shape, but you get use to them very quickly. The tactile feel of the keys is very nice, with nice feedback. My biggest gripe about this phone is that the Verizon UI is not very well organized. Everything is organized into five major categories, which don't always make sense, especially when you are use to nine or ten. My Motorola T730, while the UI was slow, I was able to find everything without looking through the manual. For the 5200, I had to peruse the manual to find and change all the settings that I consider important. But, the UI is much faster than what I was use to and the UI allowed me to customize it enough to get rid of most of the Verizon Wireless banners, so there are benefits to the new UI.
Yes, there are phones with more features and supposedly better phones coming out. But, that is always the case with any piece of technology. This phone is a great phone, if all you want is a good smaller tri-mode phone.

Why I Dislike This Phone
After owning and being very happy with my LG 3100 for three years, I thought I would get another LG when it died. (I had been told that LGs are great and Motorolas are terrible.)
After being wooed by the RAZR, which I ultimately decided was too think and uncomfortable in my hands, I took home the LG-5200 because it was the most ergonomically pleasing phone at the Verizon Wireless store and a cousin to my great LG 3100.
The pros:
-small and great design. Comfortably fits in pocket.
The Cons:
I had it for one day before I returned it. The sound quality was terrible. I could hardly hear anybody. There was constant static and an intermittent high pitched squeek. (was there a mouse living in my phone?) The speaker phone was also terrible.. as in USELESS. The exterior screen is virtually impossible to see in daylight. The numbers could have a better font so you can see the time.
I returned it for another LG 5200, hoping that the phone I had was just a dud. Because I liked the lightness and shape of the phone I was willing to give it another try. This time it lasted about six hours.
I returned the second one for a Motorola V325, which is unfortunately a bit larger (by a very small margin), but an excellent phone. It looks great (much better than the LG), the keypads are fantastic, the audio quality and speaker phone are first rate. The camera could be better, but I'm a photographer so I'll never be pleased with a phone camera.
I've learned my lesson. I won't get sucked into a phone maker's reputation again.
One last note: I honestly believe that if LG could fix that annoying feedback and high pitched buzz, they'd have a heck of a camera.
eehhh
This phone is simply okay. Gopro hero 3 silver user manual download. It has all the features a new phone should have, but those features are low-grade quality.
PROS:
-color external screen
-flash on camera
-good looking phone
-small
-good reception
-rugid build
CONS:
-screens are not very clear
-camera quality is terrible (even for a phone)
-verizon's new UI and menu SUCKS although easy to navigate
-earpiece and speakerphone not very loud
overall, this phone is okay and in my opinion, the LG 6100 is a better choice in more than one way.
nice phone!!
Overall this is a very nice phone for 95% of the cell world. It does what it is designed to do, no more , no less. After many phones and lousy coverage and reception I am very pleased with the results of the 5200. In the first three weeks I have only dropped one call and that was in the lowest area of our county that no phone holds calls. I looked an researched others but I kept coming back to the 5200 due to the talk time and tri-mode. I would have considered the 8100 or the motos 815 but they were not tri-mode I travel a lot and I did not need some of the features they had. Hey, if you want all the bells and whistles , get something else, but don't beat up this phone for doing it's job.
Pros:
fairly user friendly
good coverage for verizon
strong battery life
decent speaker for size
Cons:
display hard to read in sunlight
fixed antenna

Buggy
Schuuykill Mobile Fone Pager User Manual 2017
This phone is very buggy, it probably could be okay with a software update. It's not a total failure, but it kind of is trashy. I don't like the way the phone looks, I'm not happy I bought it. It was free with my NE2, but I think if I'm going to carry a phone this size, I'm going to go and get an E815 or something. I'm not partial to this phone. I've owned about 5 others but this is not my least favorite.
